We are developing a synthetic biology platform for engineering microbial cells that can convert food waste to diverse and modular sugar polymers.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build, and test libraries of microbial cells for diverse sugar polymer production.

​

  • Create experimental workflows and collect quantitative measurements, including flow cytometry, omics, and structural analysis. 

​

  • Collaborate frequently with the Metabolic Engineering and Polymer Chemistry teams to optimize sugar polymer biosynthesis pathways in the production strains.

​

  • Communicate methods and results both internally with the team, and externally with other scientists, industry executives, and academic researchers.

​

  • Contribute to the generation and documentation of intellectual property

Who You are

  • Passionate about sustainability

​

  • Excited to be part of a fast-paced startup

​

  • Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Biological Engineering, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related fields.

​

  • 3+ years of research experience in an academic or industry lab setting.

​

  • Skilled in molecular biology, genome editing, microbial culture techniques.

 

  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.

​

  •  Quantitative data analysis expertise.

​

  • Experience in -omics, analytical techniques, and software development is a plus.
